Easter baskets don’t have to be all about the candy, the Easter eggs, or about the Easter egg hunt. Here are some ideas for cute baskets that will please both kids and parents alike. Get inspired with these ten ideas, each with a unique spin on the traditional holiday fare!
1. Easter Storybooks
Now is the perfect time to share the true meaning of Easter in a way that both younger kids and older kids can understand. To reinforce the meaning, books are perfect for this. Sharing Bible stories, Bible verses, and the story of Jesus with your little ones is a great idea to start the day off with!

And don’t forget about treats! Easter is the perfect time to bake some yummy decorative Easter cookies or make some Easter-themed Rice Krispie Treats.

8. Gift Cards
How about adding some new gift cards to your child’s Easter basket? Or maybe give your child a head start on their summer spending money. Gift cards are always a hit with kids!

What’s In My Easter Basket?
Now that you’ve got some creative basket ideas, it’s time to start filling up those baskets! I like to add a mix of candy, themed toys or plushies, and practical items that my kids can use throughout the year.
Each Easter morning, my kids wake up in a fun way…by seeing their Easter baskets!
Here are a few of the things I’ll be adding to my kids’ Easter baskets this year:
- Easter books or activity books or a coloring book
- Board book for my 4 year old (we love board books around here! So durable!)
- Easter puzzles
- Stickers, maybe a sticker book
- A new outfit to wear on Easter Sunday
- Plushy or toy, like a duck, bunny, or something else. I usually get one of each for each of my 3 kids.
- Candy, of course! Chocolate crosses, chocolate bunnies, things like that.
- Amazon Gift card – what can I say? I’m a sucker for my kids.
- Or maybe a Roblox gift card
I’m going to get my son a new Bible, maybe a beginner’s bible, this year, one that doesn’t have super small print and that’s like a study Bible for boys. I’ve been looking at a few of these for him lately. I good Bible is a great opportunity for any young man to learn more about God’s love.
