The Easter Story

Easter is much more than Easter baskets or Easter eggs. And it’s much more than going to church on Easter Sunday. Do you know of the Easter story in the bible, among all those great bible verses? You can start off sharing Easter with your kids on the first day of the week leading up to Palm Sunday by telling the story of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus.

I would begin by telling the story of Jesus through the Gospels. Explain how he is the son of god and the son of man, king of the Jews. Christ Jesus started as a young man as a living hope for all by being at the right hand of God with his great mercy. I would go on to to explain why the father of our Lord Jesus Christ put him on earth as a human, yet a sinless righteous man.

Continue the Easter story through the crown of thorns and then eternal life through the Holy Spirit, with the entrance of the tomb being sealed. After 3 days, Mary Magdalene and Mary (Christian mother of Jesus) they couldn’t find jesus’ body, it was just an empty tomb. Yet Jesus appeared before them as the Holy Spirit, fulfilling prophecy throughout the whole land long before he was even born!

The sacrifice Jesus made is for all to be saved – salvation – through the new birth as a Christian. All hands of sinners can be born again through the Holy Spirit and the name of the Father.

This story of Easter shows the great power of God’s own love for us in the most perfect way. And Easter, sometimes referred to as Resurrection Sunday, is remembered by all by gathering with your family and remember Jesus’ great sacrifice, as well as God’s sacrifice, made for all of us to have everlasting life. If we would just believe with our hearts and confess it with our mouths, then it shall be so!
